Toy Tuesday

Idea Boxes!

While Caroline and I were traveling in Jackson Hole, Wyoming we came across these little boxes at a store.

These idea boxes come in different types such as: wiggle box, backyard box, adventure box, story box, and kindness boxes just to name a few.

Let's look at the story box for an example of these fun boxes.

Inside each box is full of wooden poker like chips with words written on them to start a story, or embellish a story.

What a fun way to get kids talking and make up a crazy story!

Ok now let's look at the adventure box

This one probably can't be done in a hospital setting just because these chips tell of places to go or find and most children can't leave the hospital, but they would be great for a day or night of babysitting or a fun activity for boring summer days!

I didn't buy any boxes when we saw them in person, but I kept thinking about them so I came home and ordered the story box, wiggle box, and mini kindness box. I can't wait to use them in the hospital!

These boxes come in two sizes regular and mini. The regular is $17.99 and the mini is $8.99!

Have you ever heard of anything like this before? Do you have or use idea boxes?

Oooh- these look fun! I wonder if you could use them to build a guided imagery scenario with kids...hmmm... These brought to mind Rory's Story Cubes (https://www.storycubes.com/)
which I have never used but have bought for gifts before because they looked fun and appropriate for a wide range of ages. Looks like they even have different themes now. Thanks for sharing! Sarah: crjandsbj(at)netzero(dot)com
