Toy Tuesday

Micheal's Meanies
Since Starting my new job this week, I have seen a lot of new toys. One of them or should I say three stood out. Micheal's meanies. Cute little stress ball like toys that we give away to kids. Seems like a normal toy right? Wrong. Micheal was a 7 year old boy that fought leukemia for 3 years and then 7 years later at age 17 was diagnosed with a Glioblastoma Grade IV Brain Tumor due to the radiation treatment he had received for Leukemia. While fighting his new diagnosis Micheal came up with his meanies.

"Terry" the terrible tumor
"Lily" lymphoma
"Lousy" Louie leukemia

"I wanted to give something to the kids that they could take their anger out on. I thought of making these into a stress ball like toy that the kids can squeeze hard, punch, kick or even throw them."
Micheal lost his fight this July. I encourage you all to check out his site, and if your hospital doesn't already have Michel's Meanies look into getting some!
